Interested in becoming a Health Navigation Volunteer?
As a health navigation volunteer, you will have the opportunity to improve the wellbeing of asylum seekers in Montreal, increase accessibility to services and practice your clinical interviewing skills.

Please note: This program is only open to medical students enrolled in a Quebec University. Med-P students or those from other programs who are not registered with the CMQ are not eligible.
What is a Health Navigation Volunteer?
Along with other health navigation, you will:

Engage in clinical interviews and history taking over zoom or via phone call with asylum seekers

Complete the asylum seeker’s health passport document

Provide the client with an individualized list of community resources and services based on their identified needs

Be a part of a community of other volunteers and receive appreciation merchandise

Have the opportunity to attend volunteer appreciation events and network with other peers who share your passion for the cause
Responsibilities:

Undergo training session (1 hour, virtual) and sign the confidentiality agreement

Engage in health navigation sessions when you are able to by registering your name next to a client on the waitlist

no minimum frequency of sessions required!
